Draw Near by David A. Cover

Our gathering song is based on Hebrews 4 and invites us to draw near to God through Jesus Christ and receive His mercy and grace.

Draw near to Me My child,
come rest in My mercy.
Draw near to Me, My child,
and know I AM with you.

Worthy (You Are Worthy) by Matt Redman and Chris Tomlin

And I cannot begin to tell
how merciful You’ve been.
Oh Lord, my ears have heard of You
now my eyes have seen.

Creator King by Mary Maclean

Creator King celebrates both God’s transcendence and nearness. The God who created the moon and the stars is mindful of men and women, who He created in His image, and cares for us with an intimate love.

And who am I
that You are mindful of me?
And who am I
that You sent Your love on me?
You’re my Creator King.

Following Creator King, David guided us through a time of silent confession.

One Redeemer by David A. Cover, Christine Cover and Patrick Miller

Three weeks ago the pastors started Creation, Fall and the Promise of Redemption, a sermon series guiding The Crossing through the book of Genesis. One Redeemer was written as a companion song to help us express some of the truths that we’re learning together.

From start to end,
You are the “Amen!”
to Your promises,
Jesus, my soul’s Savior,
the great story’s One Redeemer.

Hosanna by Brooke Fraser

A proper response to God’s love for us in Christ requires us to give our lives for the sake of Gospel. The bridge from Hosanna is a cry to God that recognizes that we can only do this with his help.

Heal my heart and make it clean.
Open up my eyes to the things unseen.
Show me how to love like You have loved me.
Break my heart for what breaks Yours.
Everything I am for Your Kingdom’s cause.

In Christ Alone by Stuart Townend and Keith Getty

1 John 4:10 gives us the definition of love, “This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” In Christ Alone is a modern hymn that magnifies this love by memorializing the life, death and resurrection of Christ in four eloquent verses.

What heights of love, what depths of peace,
when fears are stilled and striving cease;
My Comforter, my All-in-All,
here in the love of Christ I stand.
