Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing – Words by Robert Robinson (1758) Add. lyrics by Page CXVI, Arrangement by Page CXVI

The bible tells us, “We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way…” but the good news of the Gospel is we have a good shepherd in Jesus Christ who has laid down his life for his sheep.

Lord, You sought me when a stranger,
wand’ring from the fold of God;
There, to rescue me from danger,
interposed Your precious blood.

Ephesians 2:1-3, 4-10

Jesus, I Come – Words by William Sleeper (1887),Contemporary Music by Greg Thompson

Scripture gives us invitation after invitation to leave behind our soul destroying life of sin and come to Christ to receive the riches of his glorious inheritance. Jesus, I Come reveals the disparity of the life of sin and the life in Christ by poetically contrasting the two options.

Out of my bondage sorrow and night,
Jesus, I come; Jesus, I come.
Into Thy freedom gladness and light
Jesus, I come to Thee.
Out of my sickness into Thy health,
out of my wanting and into Thy wealth,
out of my sin and into Thyself,
Jesus, I come to Thee.

Christ is Risen by Matt Maher and Mia Fieldes

Christ is risen from the dead
trampling over death by death,
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave

Colossians 3:1-4

Rock of Ages – Words: Augustus M. Toplady (1776), Contemporary chorus by Page CXVI (2009). Arrangement by Page CXVI and David Wilton

Our confession continued with Rock of Ages. This classic hymn reminds us that there is nothing that we can do to rid ourselves of the guilt of sin. Our broken souls are redeemed, rescued and restored by Christ alone.

Nothing in my hand I bring,
simply to the cross I cling.
Naked, come to Thee for dress;
Helpless look to Thee for grace.
Foul, I to the fountain fly;
Wash me, Savior or I die.

One Redeemer by David A. Cover, Christine Cover and Patrick Miller

God has sent a Redeemer, His Son Jesus Christ, to redeem sinners like us. He did not leave us alone and abandon us in our time of need. This is what the story of Genesis and the whole bible is about.

From start to end,
You are the “Amen!”
to Your promises,
Jesus, my soul’s Savior,
the great story’s One Redeemer.
