Astronomy Presentation on Mars

Randy Durk is the president of the Central Missouri Astronomical Association and also attends The Crossing. Nice guy too. He’s informed me that this Wednesday night, Sept 3rd, there will be a presentation by the MU Astronomy Department on the planet Mars at 7:00 in room 120 of the Physics building. Two matted and framed astrophotos will be given away after the presentation.

And after the presentation, you can go up to the Laws Observatory and view Jupiter (that bright planet you see in the southern sky these evenings) and the moon (weather permitting). All of this is free and open to the public. It would be a great way to get your older kids interested in astronomy and science in general. For more information, you can just call Randy at 573-356-8550.
