Gathering Instrumental: Sojourner's Song by The Crossing Music
How Great is Our God by Chris Tomlin, Jesse Reeves and Ed Cash, Arranged by The Crossing Music
The splendor of the King,
clothed in majesty;
Let all the earth rejoice,
all the earth rejoice.
He wraps Himself in light,
and darkness tries to hide,
and trembles at His voice,
and trembles at His voice.
We spent some time in silent reflection praying for a heart that clings to the cross of Christ with 1 Corinthians 1:18.
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
I Fear the Lord by David A. Cover, Patrick K. Miller and Christine Cover
Save me from my foolish will
that listens to Temptation’s call.
I leave behind my mocking heart,
and Folly's voice, I disregard.
You are my God!
Help me walk in your wisdom's way.
You are my God!
Father, teach my heart to obey.
We heard the assurance that Jesus Christ is our wisdom as Andrew Luley read once again from 1 Corinthians.
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.
It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.
All I Have is Christ by Jordan Kauflin
But as I ran my hell-bound race, indifferent to the cost,
You looked upon my helpless state and led me to the cross.
And I beheld God’s love displayed, You suffered in my place,
You bore the wrath reserved for me, now all I know is grace.
Hallelujah! All I have is Christ.
Hallelujah! Jesus is my life.
Be Thou My Vision - Traditional Irish hymn, Additional lyrics by Julia Ward Howe (1862), Arranged by The Crossing Music
High King of heaven, my victory won,
may I reach heaven’s joys, O bright heav’n’s Sun.
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my vision, O ruler of all.
Rachel Johnson reads to the 9:30 a.m. first grade class a story from the Crossing Kids' Echoes of Eden summer curriculum.
O for a Thousand Tongues to Sing by Charles Wesley (1739), Contemporary chorus by David Crowder and Jack Parker
O for a thousand tongues to sing
My great Redeemer’s praise,
The glories of my God and King,
The triumphs of His grace!
My gracious Master and my God,
Assist me to proclaim,
To spread through all the earth abroad
The honors of Thy name.
Crossing Kids take a deeper look at what it means to find rest in Christ by examining Matthew 11:28-29.
